Autofest 2006
Officially Autofest is held from August 25 to 27 in Oshawa. Friday sees downtown Oshawa closed off to allow participant cars and trucks to park and a huge street dance with live band at the 4 corners. Saturday has activities planned including a poker run, soapbox derby, and a rock and roll dance among other events. Sunday is the big day with GM headquarters turned into Canada’s largest one day automotive show with usually over 100 vehicles of all description. On Sunday, one lucky participant will have his name drawn to be one of 12 people on stage at next years Syracuse show with a key that may start the giveaway car.
SOCP is staging some activities for the weekend around the show. Anyone from out of town looking for a home base to attend the events is welcome to come by the Pratt homestead in Enniskillen. There is enough space to pitch a tent or park a trailer and lots of extra couch and floor space inside as well. On Saturday at noon, we will be hosting a special garage tour/ BBQ on Sunset Heights Blvd with Jeff Crawford. If you know Jeff, you’ll know him as a truly unique and cool guy who is actually the only guy teaching a college course in Canada on chopper building. He promises an impressive turnout of bikes, cars, trucks and other toys. We’ll be hosting yet another BBQ for all club members there too! Don’t miss any of the fun!
